Surefire Resources intercepts significant sulphide mineralisation at Yidby Gold Project

Surefire Resources NL (ASX:SRN) has made encouraging progress in its drilling campaign at the Yidby Gold Project in Western Australia, with a series of promising sulphide mineralisation intersections, including an impressive 65-metre continuous intersection of sulphides in one hole.

The company’s reverse circulation (RC) drilling program at the wholly owned project has now completed 15 drill holes for a total of 1,909 metres, with a focus on the Marshall and Fender prospects. The latest results highlight new zones of sulphide mineralisation within quartz porphyry, underscoring the potential for extending the gold resource at Yidby.

Strong early results support resource expansion potential

The Yidby drilling program is designed to target extensions and infill areas of known mineralisation at both Marshall and Fender. Early results have been positive, with a standout 65-metre intersection of disseminated sulphides observed in drill hole YBRC128, located between 120 and 185 metres downhole.

These sulphides — predominantly pyrite and chalcopyrite — are present in estimated abundances of up to 5–10%, suggesting potential for significant gold mineralisation.

Managing director Paul Burton noted that drilling progress has been very good, with no delays.

“We have a substantial number of samples at the laboratory already for fire-assay,” he added. “Lithologies intersected are encouraging, and visible mineralisation is still being encountered. I look forward to providing further updates and laboratory assay results as they are received.”

Exploring new targets at Yidby and the Money Anomaly

The current drilling program is part of a broader 42-hole campaign aimed at expanding the resource at Yidby.

In addition to testing extensions at Marshall and Fender, Surefire is targeting new areas identified through structural analysis of magnetic and gravity data. A high-priority target is the Money Anomaly, located 1.5km south of Yidby, which is expected to further expand the project’s exploration footprint.

Following drilling at the Marshall and Fender prospects, the rig has moved to the main Yidby Gold Zone, with plans to shift to the Money Anomaly after completion of drilling at Yidby. This progressive approach is designed to test both known mineralisation zones and new high-potential targets.

Assay results and continued exploration

Surefire has submitted 284 samples to the laboratory for assay, with additional samples expected to be sent in the coming days.

The company anticipates receiving initial assay results within the next few weeks, which will inform future steps in advancing the Yidby Gold Project and could help unlock further exploration upside.
