Zynex Inc (NASDAQ:ZYXI) has announced the appointment of Steve Dyson as chief executive officer, marking a new chapter for the medical technology company founded in 1996 by its outgoing CEO, Thomas Sandgaard.
Sandgaard will continue to serve as chairman of the board and will also lead the company’s Technology Committee.
"I am excited to step back from day-to-day operations and continue contributing as chairman," Sandgaard said in a statement.
"Steven brings deep expertise and a proven track record in the medical sector. His leadership will be instrumental as we refocus our business strategy toward a more optimized payer mix and work to return Zynex to a strong growth trajectory."
Dyson brings more than 25 years of experience in the healthcare and medtech space, most recently through his long-standing leadership at Apax, a global private equity firm.
During his career, he has overseen acquisitions, growth initiatives, and successful exits for a range of international companies, including KCI in the US, Rodenstock in Germany, Healthium Medtech in India, Unilabs in Switzerland, and Neuraxpharm in Spain.
He holds a Bachelor of Arts degree from Oxford University and a PhD from Cambridge University.
Dyson will be based at Zynex’s headquarters in Englewood, Colorado, while also maintaining a residence in London, England.
"I'm honored to join the Zynex team at this exciting time in the company's history and to have the opportunity to lead the company back to a strong growth trajectory,” Dyson said. “Zynex's strong foundation, built by Thomas over many years, provides an excellent platform to deliver exceptional value for all our stakeholders.”
