ACG Metals hires new COO

ACG Metals Ltd (LSE:ACG, OTC:ACGAF) has appointed Peter Carter as chief operating officer, to lead its global operations, starting with the Gediktepe mine in Turkey.

Carter brings over 40 years’ experience in mine engineering, operations management and project development. As well as leading operations, he is also expected to work closely with senior management to deliver on the company’s acquisition plans.

Carter previously held a leadership role at the Frontier Mine in the DRC, where he managed a multi-phase expansion. He also held executive and technical roles at Centerra Gold and True Gold Mining.

"Peter's appointment further strengthens our leadership team as we seek to scale ACG's operations and become a leading copper producer on the London market,” chief executive Artem Volynets said.

“That we have been able to attract someone of Peter's calibre and experience less than a year after acquiring Gediktepe is testament to our strategy and the hard work of the team we are building.”

Volynets added: “Peter's unrivalled technical expertise, hands-on operational experience, and track record of delivering complex projects in challenging jurisdictions will make him a valuable addition to our team.

“We are excited to get to work, particularly as the planned sulphide expansion at Gedikepe progresses on schedule and on budget towards first production in 2026."
