The Trump Organization, a conglomerate owned by US President Donald Trump, has quietly removed claims that its upcoming mobile device, the T1 Phone, will be made in America.
Initially promoted as an American-made device, the company has since removed its “Made in the USA” claim from its website, replacing this with more vague language such as "designed with American values in mind," "brought to life right here in the USA," and "American hands behind every device,” which suggest the phone will be assembled rather than fully manufactured in the US.
This follows skepticism from industry experts, who noted that the phone’s specifications resembled those of devices produced by Chinese manufacturers.
Experts had expressed doubt that the phone could be produced at its $499 price point in the US, which lacks an advanced supply chain and factories needed for components like high-end displays and processors.
Additionally, the phone’s technical specifications and launch timeline have been adjusted since the initial announcement.
The screen size was reduced from 6.78 inches to 6.25 inches, RAM details were removed, and the expected availability shifted from September to "later this year."
