Cyprium Metals Ltd (ASX:CYM, OTC:CYPMF) has strengthened its executive with the appointment of Jeff Sommers as chief financial officer (CFO) and Angus Miles as vice president of corporate development, leading investor relations.
These leadership changes align with the company’s focus on the phased restart of the Nifty Copper Complex in Western Australia’s Paterson region.
CYM recently received a suite of regulatory approvals and amendments that pave the way for Phase 1 redevelopment at Nifty. The approvals cover crucial aspects of the project, including modifications to construction specifications, an extension to the works approval, and a deferral of the mine closure plan submission.
These updates enable Cyprium to progress the restart of its solvent extraction and electrowinning (SX-EW) cathode plant, a central component of the staged reactivation strategy at Nifty.
Executive chair Matt Fifield said the approvals represented a major step forward in de-risking the project. “We have aligned Nifty’s environmental approvals with our forward work plans following a review of our existing approvals that cover the refurbishment and operation of the SX-EW plant, operation of the heap leach pads,” he said.
