Sprintex secures deposit from Mest Water as Dutch subsidy kickstarts compressor project for over 10,000 farms

Sprintex Ltd (ASX:SIX)Ltd continues to go from strength to strength as it looks to build its footprint throughout Europe.

A €143,250 (A$256,077) deposit from strategic partner Mest Water, coincides with the Netherlands’ announcement of a new national subsidy scheme to support advanced manure processing for small-scale farms. The funding scheme, launching in Autumn 2025, is expected to benefit more than 10,000 farms, accelerating demand for Sprintex’s compressor solutions.

The company will now collaborate with Mest Water to develop a new high-efficiency compressor tailored to mobile Zero Liquid Discharge (ZLD) systems for small farms. The deposit forms part of a revised €705,000 (A$1.26 million) order and highlights the confidence in the joint strategy.

“We are pleased to advance our partnership with Mest Water with the commencement of the compressor development project, amid what’s now an increasingly supportive regulatory environment for the application of our technology in a major European market,” Sprintex CEO and managing director Jay Upton, said.

He added that the national subsidy scheme offers "additional commercial tailwinds" as the company moves to deploy the first dual-compressor unit next week.

Revised prototype order and evaluation upgrades

The €143,250 deposit is part of an upgraded order increasing from €620,000 (A$1.108 million) to €705,000 (A$1.26 million) due to system enhancements. All 17 stationary ZLD systems in the order will now feature dual Sprintex compressors for improved performance.

Additionally, the order includes a mobile ZLD-UP unit that will deploy three MW30 compressors to treat up to 3,000 kilograms of manure per hour, offering flexible, on-site processing capabilities.

Dutch subsidy drives market opportunity

Dutch Minister Femke Marije Wiersma confirmed the national subsidy initiative, which will facilitate the adoption of advanced manure processing systems by 10,000 to 12,000 small- and mid-sized farms. The scheme aligns with European Union environmental targets by promoting technologies that curb nitrogen and ammonia emissions.

Mest Water is Sprintex’s exclusive partner in the Netherlands and is the only approved supplier of an operational ZLD system and holds international patents for the technology. Sprintex’s new compact compressor will support the deployment of mobile ZLD units designed for periodical manure treatment on smaller farms.

Trial deployment with Van Drie Group underway

Two senior Sprintex engineers are currently on site at Mest Water’s 31,500 square metre facility in Tubbergen, finalising the upgraded unit’s commissioning and testing. This includes integration of Sprintex’s Internet of Things (IoT) monitoring platform to allow for remote diagnostics and updates.

The system is scheduled for imminent deployment to a Van Drie Group farm. Van Drie, the Netherlands’ largest veal producer, is assessing the ZLD-UP system ahead of a potential order for 200 units, valued at €4.8 million (A$8.58 million).

Positioned for dual-market expansion

With government-supported small farm initiatives and large-scale commercial trials proceeding in parallel, Sprintex is positioned to expand its clean-tech platform across Europe. The dual-market strategy leverages both regulatory support and growing industry demand for low-emission manure processing.
