Northstar Gold receives positive study results at Cam copper project

Northstar Gold Corp. (CSE:NSG) said it has received encouraging results from a development and mining evaluation study conducted by Novamera for the Zone 2 target at its historic Cam Copper Mine in Ontario.

The study, based on Northstar’s recently released 3D exploration target models, outlines a copper zone containing between 75,000 and 140,000 tonnes of mineralized material grading between 9% and 18% copper, with a conceptual average of 12% copper.

Zone 2 is located within Northstar’s 100%-owned Miller copper-gold property, 18 kilometers southeast of Kirkland Lake.

Northstar also said it has received a draft Letter of Intent from Novamera detailing terms for third-party financing, exploration, and development of the Cam Copper Zone 2 project.

The agreement is expected to pave the way for a staged “Surgical Mining Program,” which would use Novamera’s proprietary technology to extract high-grade material from the steeply dipping Zone 2 volcanogenic massive sulphide (VMS) horizon.

Novamera’s Surgical Mining approach, designed for narrow vein deposits, offers a faster and lower-cost route to production with reduced environmental and social impacts. The LOI is expected to be executed in the near term, subject to defining an economic deposit and obtaining necessary permits.

Zone 2 is interpreted to host Besshi-type copper mineralization, extending from surface to a depth of approximately 200 metres with an average true width of one metre. Northstar’s drilling programs in 2023 and 2024 confirmed high-grade results, including an intercept of 14.8% copper over 2.45 metres, supporting historical estimates of 10% copper over a 0.85-metre width.

Northstar said it is preparing to commission a NI 43-101 compliant technical report and mineral resource estimate to further advance the Cam copper project.
