Airlines and other travel companies led the risers in the FTSE 350 and the US on Tuesday, after a ceasefire was announced between Israel and Iran.
British Airways owner International Consolidated Airlines Group SA (LSE:IAG) and easyJet PLC (LSE:EZJ) both saw their shares fly over 6% higher on the blue-chip index.
This pretty much reversed losses in the previous week. Mid-cap Wizz Air Holdings PLC's (AIM:WIZZ) shares rose 0.9%.
Hotel operators, whose shares had been less affected by worries about the Middle East conflict and associated rise in fuel prices, were also on the rise, with Intercontinental Hotels Group PLC (LSE:IHG) and Whitbread PLC (LSE:WTB) up 2.2% and 1.9% respectively.
Top of the risers was Carnival PLC (LSE:CCL), up 12.4%, after it also announced a strong set of second-quarter figures.
