Constellation Resources Ltd (ASX:CR1) has identified a new, previously unexplored gold-copper anomaly at its 100%-owned Ularring Project in Western Australia, significantly expanding the project's exploration upside.
Known as the Chatham target, the anomaly spans 1.3 kilometres by 0.45 kilometres and is defined by strong gold and copper soil geochemistry. Located along the regionally significant Meenar Shear Corridor, the anomaly is supported by historical geophysics and elemental associations consistent with known mineralisation across the broader Ularring system.

Soil anomaly aligned with VTEM and structural targets
The Chatham anomaly was delineated through a maiden Ultrafine+ soil sampling program comprising 436 samples taken on a 100-by-80-metre grid. The program returned maximum values of 78 parts per billion gold and 1,126 parts per million copper, with associated anomalism in silver, tellurium, tungsten and platinum group elements.

Importantly, the anomaly coincides with a bullseye late-time Versatile Time Domain Electromagnetic (VTEM) anomaly interpreted to represent a potentially sulphide-rich, conductive unit at depth. This makes Chatham a compelling drill target, especially given that no historical drilling or systematic on-ground exploration has been conducted in the area.
Chatham also sits at the intersection of the Meenar Shear and a folded sequence of ultramafics, mafics, and banded iron formations, as interpreted from aeromagnetic data — a structural setting considered favourable for mineralisation.
Centre Forest drilling confirms mineralised extension
While Chatham is now the company’s focus, Constellation has also provided results from recent diamond drilling at the Centre Forest prospect, the most advanced target at Ularring.
Diamond hole CFDD002 intersected mineralisation 680 metres along strike from known copper-gold zones, including:
- 7.88 metres at 0.17 g/t gold and 0.12% copper from 463 metres, and
- 1.21 metres at 0.18 g/t gold and 0.29% copper from 477.75 metres.
Although the Centre Forest mineralisation is broad and continuous over a 1.1-kilometre strike length, most intersections to date fall below 1 g/t gold, prompting a strategic shift to prioritise Chatham, where higher-grade mineralisation may be found.
Exploration outlook
Constellation says it will conduct further infill soil sampling at Chatham ahead of planning a shallow reconnaissance drill program. The company sees significant potential across the broader Ularring Project, which covers 222 square kilometres of tenure about 100 kilometres northeast of Perth.
Situated within the Archaean Yilgarn Craton, Ularring lies in a geologically prospective corridor known for large-scale intrusion-related deposits such as Newmont’s Boddington Mine and Caravel Minerals’ porphyry-copper project.
With 24 kilometres of largely untested shear corridor and newly emerging targets like Chatham, Constellation sees strong potential for future gold and copper discoveries at Ularring.
