Accenture shares slip on drop in quarterly bookings

Accenture PLC (NYSE:ACN) shares moved lower before Friday’s opening bell after the professional services firm reported a 7% year-over-year drop in bookings to $19.7 billion.

This overshadowed an earnings beat for the fiscal third quarter and boosted full-year sales and profit guidance.

For Q3, which ended May 31, earnings per share (EPS) of $3.49 topped estimates of $3.32.

Revenue of $17.7 billion, up 7% from the year-ago quarter, beat estimates of $17.3 billion.

“I am very pleased with our third quarter fiscal 2025 results, including our 30 clients with quarterly bookings greater than $100 million, broad-based growth and continued expansion of our leadership in Gen AI,” Accenture CEO Julie Sweet said in a statement.

Accenture raised its full-year fiscal 2025 revenue outlook, now expecting growth of 6% to 7%, up from the earlier forecast of 5% to 7% growth.

The company also increased its EPS guidance to a range of $12.77 to $12.89, compared to the prior range of $12.55 to $12.79 and above the Street consensus of $12.73.

Shares of Accenture traded down 5% at about $291 before US markets opened on Friday.
