Pharmaceutical services firm Ergomed (LON:ERGO) said it is buying medical information firm Sound Opinion for an undisclosed sum.
The new business will be wrapped with its post-marketing arm PrimeVigilance.
The deal is expected to be earnings accretive in the first year and will be funded from cash reserves.
In the 12 months to end-March Sound Opinion turned over £340,000. It has traded profitably for the past 18 years selling medical information services to pharma and generic drugs firms.
"The acquisition of Sound Opinion is in line with Ergomed's strategy to expand our post-marketing services capacity, a sector we think is critical to the future approval of new medicines and treatments,” said chief executive Miroslav Reljanovic.
“Medical Information is a very good fit with our leading presence in pharmacovigilance and drug safety through the PrimeVigilance brand, and we are extremely pleased to acquire Sound Opinion with its strong legacy and existing client business.”
