John Lewis has instructed its head office commercial staff to work at least three days a week in the office or on the road, reducing the maximum allowed home-working days from three to two, starting in July.
According to industry bible Retail Gazette, the change affects teams involved in buying and merchandising and forms part of a wider shift among major companies, including Boots, Amazon, and JP Morgan, which are requiring more in-office attendance.
The move comes as John Lewis, known for its employee-friendly policies, seeks to enhance training and collaboration amid a turnaround effort following several store closures and job cuts.
