Solis Minerals Ltd CEO Mitch Thomas talked with Proactive about the company's current drilling activities in Peru and its strategic shift in listing focus. Thomas provided an in-country update from the Chancho al Palo Project, confirming the completion of the first drill hole to 600 metres and the presence of visual copper mineralisation starting from around 180 metres.
"To hit mineralisation in a first drill hole is something that we're proud of," Thomas stated, while noting these were early indicators consistent with a porphyry-style system. He was clear that assays need to be returned and interpreted before drawing conclusions.
The drilling program is expected to wrap up within three to four weeks, with assay results anticipated before the end of July 2025.
Thomas also explained the rationale behind Solis Minerals’ decision to withdraw from the TSX and focus solely on the ASX, citing resource allocation and shareholder structure. The move will allow the company to commit more capital directly to exploration in Peru.
In addition to Chancho al Palo, Thomas highlighted upcoming exploration planning for Ilo Este.
