Team Internet Group PLC (AIM:TIG, OTCQX:TIGXF) has been awarded a 10-year contract to manage and operate Colombia’s .co domain, which currently has more than 3 million active registrations.
“Winning the .co mandate is a milestone moment for Team Internet,” chief executive Michael Riedl said.
“It strengthens our position as a global leader in domain infrastructure and affirms our capability to manage nationally critical internet assets with trust, stability, and innovation.
“Together with our joint venture partner CCI REG, we are honoured to be entrusted with this responsibility by the Colombian government on behalf of the people of Colombia."
The contract was granted by Colombia’s Ministry of Information and Communications Technology. It will be executed by Equipo PuntoCo, a new joint venture formed between Team Internet and Colombian domain registrar CCI REG.
Under the agreement, Equipo PuntoCo will retain eight percent of gross revenues from domain registrations and renewals.
