Asian Battery Metals PLC managing director Gan-Ochir Zunduisuren talked with Proactive about the high-grade assay results returned from the Phase 3 drilling campaign at the Oval Cu-Ni-PGE discovery, part of the Yambat Project in Mongolia.
Zunduisuren highlighted that mineralisation at Oval continues to extend from the North Oval Zone through to the Oval Zone, with semi-continuous results over 800 metres in strike length. He said, “We have hit 27 metres of more than 1.3% copper, close to 0.9% nickel, and plus PPG and gold,” referencing one of the standout intercepts from the latest program.
The company has also confirmed ongoing high-grade results in massive sulphide zones, with more assay results expected shortly from drill holes 36 and 40. These results are expected to test extensions of sulphide-rich mineralisation intersected earlier in 2024.
Zunduisuren also addressed the company's funding position, noting it remains well funded after raising close to $4 million in an oversubscribed placement in February. With more than $5 million on hand at the end of Q1, ABM is on track to execute its 2025 exploration strategy.
Looking ahead, the company is advancing regional exploration, metallurgical studies due in July, and commencing geophysical work using Samsung M-by-Gap techniques to identify further drill targets.
