Midnight Sun Mining Corp (TSX-V:MMA, OTCQB:MDNGF) announced it has appointed junior mining veteran Adrian Karolko as vice president, exploration.
Karolko has more than 18 years of experience working on multicommodity projects around the world, most recently working on a feasibility study for Lumina Gold’s Cangrejos gold-copper porphyry deposit.
In his new role with Midnight Sun, Karolko will work with COO Kevin Bonel, the company said in a statement.
Karolko replaces Robert Sibthorpe, who has become Midnight Sun’s chairman emeritus.
"Adrian brings with him a wealth of experience, including contributions to the Solwezi project during our early years in Zambia,” Al Fabbro, Midnight Sun's CEO told shareholders.
“We are thrilled to have him return and his extensive expertise gained over the past decade will complement the efforts of Dr Kevin Bonel, forming a dynamic technical tag-team advancing our Zambian assets.”
Fabbro also thanked Sibthorpe for his contributions to Solwezi, which he helped the company secure in 2013. “His dedication and expertise have been vital to our progress, and we are grateful for his continued commitment to consult and advise our technical team.”
Midnight Sun also said that current vice president corporate development Matt MacKenzie will add executive to his title as he moves into a more senior role with the company.
