Aftermath Silver Ltd (TSX-V:AAG, OTCQX:AAGFF) released the final assay results from its Phase 2 diamond drilling program at the Berenguela silver-copper-manganese project in southern Peru, with key intercepts confirming the deposit remains open to the east.
The Vancouver-based company said it completed 82 holes totaling nearly 5,300 meters, expanding the original 60-hole, 4,600-meter plan after receiving encouraging geological data.
Among the highlights, one hole intersected 13.8 meters grading 558 grams per tonne (g/t) silver, 3.16% copper, and 15.06% manganese from a depth of 23.2 meters, including a higher-grade zone of 5.6 meters at 1,053 g/t silver, 2.85% copper, and 15.80% manganese.
Another hole, drilled on the easternmost section of the deposit, returned 68.9 meters at 78 g/t silver, 1.19% copper, and 6.03% manganese from 6.4 meters depth, suggesting mineralization remains open in that direction.
“These results conclude our reporting of our Phase 2 diamond drill program and a revised mineral resource estimate including both Phase 1 and Phase 2 drilling is now underway,” said Ralph Rushton, Aftermath’s CEO. “We are very pleased to report that one of our most easterly holes…cut strong mineralization and the resource appears to remain open to the east.”
Rushton added that future drilling will target the eastern extension once access is prepared in areas with steep terrain.
The program helped the company better understand faulted geological zones through targeted drilling, the CEO told shareholders.
Berenguela is located in southern Peru and is focused on the development of a polymetallic silver, copper, and manganese deposit.
