Standard Uranium Ltd (TSX-V:STND, OTCQB:STTDF) announced a summary of its 2025 exploration plans for the Corvo uranium project, located beyond the eastern margin of the Athabasca Basin, currently under a three-year earn-in option agreement with Aventis Energy.
The company said it is preparing a prospecting, mapping, and geochemical sampling program scheduled for July 2025.
This work will aim to ground-truth historical uranium-bearing outcrops, including the Manhattan showing, with previously reported values ranging from 1.19% to 5.98% U₃O₈ (uranium), and the SMDI showing 2052, which returned 0.137% U₃O₈ and 2,300 ppm thorium.
Later in the year, an extensive high-resolution ground gravity survey is planned for the fourth quarter.
The survey will target density anomalies that may indicate hydrothermal alteration zones, particularly those aligned with recently refined electromagnetic conductor trends identified in earlier airborne surveys.
These datasets, including results from a helicopter-borne Xcite time-domain electromagnetic (TDEM) and magnetic survey, will be used to develop and prioritize targets for drilling.
The TDEM survey, covering approximately 1,380 line-kilometers, revealed several kilometers of conductive anomalies and magnetic features, enhancing the resolution of underlying structures and trends across the project area.
Further, a diamond drill program is scheduled to begin in Q1 2026, targeting areas selected through the integration of 2025 exploration results.
Geophysical inversion and modeling will continue throughout the year to incorporate both historical and new datasets and to refine the selection of high-priority targets.
"The technical team and I are looking forward to getting boots on the ground at Corvo for the first time,” Standard Uranium president and VP exploration Sean Hillacre said in a statement.
“We have multiple work programs planned that will add value and bolster our targeting strategy on the project throughout 2025 ahead of our maiden drilling program."
