Medicus Pharma (NASDAQ:MDCX) said it has appointed KPMG as its independent registered public accounting firm for the 2025 fiscal year, replacing EisnerAmper following a review process led by the company’s audit committee and approved by its board.
The transition, announced on June 4, comes as the clinical-stage biotech company ramps up its global operations and research programs.
“This transition is with the consent and comfort of EisnerAmper and there are no disagreements or material issues,” said CEO Raza Bokhari, noting EisnerAmper will continue to work with the company for the financial year 2024.
Bokhari said the move to KPMG was “very time appropriate” given Medicus’ ongoing growth and international expansion.
“As an emerging biotech/life sciences Nasdaq-listed growth company, we are rapidly expanding beyond the shores of the United States,” he said, highlighting Medicus’ novel basal cell carcinoma (BCC) study using dissolvable microneedle arrays (D-MNA), which is now underway at Cleveland Clinic Abu Dhabi and American Hospital Dubai.
Bokhari also referenced the company’s intent to acquire Antev, a UK-based late-stage biotech firm focused on developing Teverelix, a next-generation GnRH antagonist for patients with advanced prostate cancer and high cardiovascular risk.
“Medicus team is proud of our progress,” he added.
