Private space technology firm SpaceX is set to generate $15.5 billion in revenue in 2025, according to CEO Elon Musk.
In a post on the social media platform X, Musk said that about $1.1 billion of SpaceX’s 2025 revenue is expected to come from NASA contracts.
Musk added that SpaceX’s revenue will exceed NASA’s entire budget for next year, which is about $18.8 billion according to recent White House proposals. This is down from $25 billion in the previous fiscal year.
Perhaps an interesting milestone: @SpaceX commercial revenue from space will exceed the entire budget of @NASA next year.
SpaceX revenue this year will be ~$15.5B, of which NASA is ~$1.1B.

SpaceX’s revenue expansion has been driven by the global expansion of its Starlink satellite internet service and continued dominance in the commercial launch market.
Starlink has reached breakeven cash flow, according to Musk, and is rapidly scaling across new international markets, including recent partnerships in India.
The company's launch capabilities remain a cornerstone of its business. In 2024, SpaceX executed a record 134 Falcon launches, making it the most active launch provider in the world. It is targeting 170 launches in 2025.
The company’s reusable rocket technology, namely the Falcon 9 and Falcon Heavy systems, has significantly reduced the cost of reaching orbit and attracted clients from across the commercial, government, and defense sectors.
