C3 Metals Inc (TSX-V:CCCM, OTC:CARCF) said it has launched a 14-hole, 2,500-metre diamond drilling program at its 50%-owned Super Block Project in central Jamaica.
The new program is targeting a five-kilometre-long gold trend that includes the past-producing Pennants Gold Mine.
Super Block is a joint venture with Geophysx Jamaica Limited and aims to test multiple epithermal gold targets where soil geochemistry and radiometric anomalies coincide.
“After conducting extensive mapping and geochemical sampling at Super Block, we identified a 5km gold trend with the past producing Pennants Gold Mine in the centre of this trend,” said C3 Metals CEO Dan Symons.
The program will follow up on historical high-grade gold results at Pennants and the gold anomaly extensions to the northwest and southeast of the mine, Symons told shareholders.
Drilling will focus on the Pennants Mine as well as the PEZ and DHZ prospects along the trend. Historical results from Pennants include drill intercepts of 1.7 metres at 430 grams per tonne (g/t) gold, 3.8m at 56.4 g/t, and 9.2m at 18.4 g/t.
The PEZ prospect features a 1,500-metre-long radiometric anomaly aligned with high gold-in-soil values, while the DHZ prospect returned surface rock chip samples assaying up to 35.8 g/t gold.
Approximately 94 historical drill holes have been completed at Pennants to date, with an average depth of just 82 metres. C3 Metals believes the system remains open at depth and along strike. The company said there has been no previous drilling at PEZ or DHZ beyond a few shallow auger holes.
Assay results from the current program are expected in the third quarter of 2025. The company said it is financially positioned to expand the program beyond the initial 14 holes if warranted by early results.
C3 Metals holds additional concessions in Jamaica, including the adjacent Arthurs Seat and Bellas Gate properties.
