Rome Resources Plc (AIM:RMR) told investors it has started working on a new Mineral Resource Estimate for the Bisie North project, in the Democratic Republic of Congo.
The company has appointed The MSA Group to complete the estimate, which will cover the Kalayi and Mont Agoma prospects.
The work includes the development of 3D block models and will follow CIM guidelines for NI 43-101 Technical Reporting.
It aims to complete the work by the end of June. It follows a previous NI 43-101 report, last year, with new drilling data now expected to support full mineralisation modelling for both Kalayi and Mont Agoma.
Drilling is meanwhile underway at depth at Mont Agoma, where three rigs are turning, targeting tin mineralisation beneath known copper-zinc zones.
Rome expects to update the new resource estimate in the future, after all new drill assay results have been gathered and analysed.
"With three rigs currently operating at Mont Agoma, we are making rapid progress in testing what we believe is a large-scale, high-value copper-tin-zinc-silver system,” chief executive Paul Barrett said in a statement.
“The data collected so far is robust enough to support our maiden resource estimates for both Kalayi and Mont Agoma, and we are pleased to appoint MSA to carry out this important milestone for the company."
Barrett added: "The geology is shaping up as we had hoped - with copper and zinc dominant near surface and tin strengthening at depth - confirming the zonation model we are targeting.
“This resource will be our first formal step in defining scale and value at Bisie North.”
