Farage says Reform will take bitcoin donations

Reform UK will begin accepting political donations in bitcoin and other cryptocurrencies, party leader Nigel Farage announced at a cryptocurrency conference in Las Vegas.

Speaking at the Bitcoin Conference, Farage said Reform was the first British political party to enable crypto donations, provided donors meet UK eligibility rules.

The party also plans to introduce a bill to cut capital gains tax on crypto from 24% to 10%, create a bitcoin reserve at the Bank of England, and ban banks from closing accounts based on crypto activity.

Farage criticised both the current Labour government and the previous Conservative leadership for ignoring the sector.

Reform’s website has been updated to accept crypto, with donations subject to Electoral Commission rules, including a ban on anonymous contributions.
