Valereum launches digital asset platform to tokenise real-world assets

Valereum PLC (AQSE:VLRM) has launched its digital asset platform, VLRM Markets, marking its first step into regulated commercial activity in El Salvador.

The platform is designed to turn real-world assets, from intellectual property to real estate and commodities, into digital tokens that can be traded, held, or used to raise capital.

The move follows regulatory approval in El Salvador, where VLRM Markets is now licensed to issue and manage digital assets, including Bitcoin, under oversight from the country’s digital assets and financial regulators.

The company’s first product is a token linked to royalties from the book Running with the Firm.

This token, issued by VLRM Global Investments, serves as a trial to demonstrate how the platform works and to test internal systems in a live environment.

The launch positions Valereum to enter the growing market for tokenised assets. These are digital representations of traditional investments such as shares or bonds, hosted on blockchain technology to allow faster trading, clearer ownership records, and automated compliance.

Valereum says the platform includes automated controls to meet regulatory standards and tools for asset recovery. The aim is to make digital versions of physical assets both investable and secure.

More offerings are planned over the coming year, with the company targeting what it describes as high-quality issuers across various sectors.

Adrian Hogg, head of VLRM Markets, Adrian Hogg said: "We've reached the point where the business is live-licensed, operational, and moving into its commercial phase.

"The first issuance is proof-of-concept by design, it allows us to test systems in production and demonstrate our regulatory and technical readiness.

"We are executing real-world tokenisation and the focus now turns to swiftly building a track record, revenue generation, scaling, and execution, revenue generation through delivering tokenised solutions to a rapidly expanding growing pipeline of issuers."

The tokenisation market is attracting increased interest. A joint study by Boston Consulting Group and ADDX estimates that digital versions of real-world assets could represent as much as $16 trillion globally by 2030.

Valereum sees this as a long-term opportunity to grow into a leader in this field, blending regulatory rigour with new financial technology.

For now, the company’s focus is proving that its platform works. The first token may be small in scale, but it gives Valereum a chance to show that its infrastructure is ready, regulated, and able to support more ambitious offerings to come.
