Georgina Energy PLC (LSE:GEX) pointed to continued progress at Hussar and Mt Winter prospects in Australia.
"Georgina continues to be focused on multiple workstreams to fulfil obligations for the Hussar drilling permit approval and completion of the Mt Winter acquisition,” chief executive Anthony Hamilton said in a statement.
At the Hussar prospect, the company’s subsidiary Westmarket Oil & Gas Pty Ltd has submitted a Well Management Plan, Drilling Application, and Well Activity Application to DEMIRS.
A revised Environmental Impact Report covering a larger area has also been completed.
Drilling approval discussions are underway with DEMIRS, meanwhile, the company has identified the Ensign 970 Rig as a suitable drill rig.
Also, Georgina highlighted that seismic data reprocessing has revealed a secondary target and expanded the Hussar structure by 50 square kilometres, to now total some 350 square kilometres.
Elsewhere, at Mt Winter, the company said it is finalising steps under the Aboriginal Land Rights Act to obtain exploration ratification for a priority area of EPA155.
A re-entry work program is being prepared as part of this process. Re-mapping of 2D seismic data has identified additional resource potential within EPA155.
The company is also evaluating further prospects with known gas occurrences containing helium, hydrogen, and hydrocarbons, which may be advanced after the current projects.
