Cordiant Digital Infrastructure Ltd (LSE:CORD)q has announced the expansion of its Czech portfolio company, CRA, which increased the scope of its DAB+ network.
CRA expansion sees the launch of six more commercial radio stations.
New stations were added, under long-term contracts,3 with Active Radio and Londa, bring the total to nine digital stations.
CRA’s DAB B network now operates from 31 transmitters and reaches 83.40% of the Czech population. The network is currently at 73% capacity.
"This latest expansion further demonstrates the success and popularity of digital radio among listeners and broadcasters alike, and we expect to earn incremental revenues from these new radio stations, further validating our Buy, Build & Grow approach to investing,” said Steven Marshall, Cordiant Digital Infrastructure Management executive chair.
CRA chief executive, Miloš Mastník, meanwhile, commented: "We are very pleased that more major commercial radio stations are entering DAB+ broadcasting.
“We are actively supporting DAB+ broadcasting and are seeing the benefits of this coming through, with eight out of the top ten radio stations (public and commercial) broadcasting on our DAB+ network."
Cordiant also noted that CRA saw successes in its data centre and cloud business, selling additional capacity at its newest edge data centre in Cukrák, outside Prague, supported by its relationship with cloud gaming provider, Boosteroid.
Eyeing strong market demand, Cordiant said CRA is accelerating its 1.3MW expansion of DC10 at one of the company's broadcast towers in the Prague Žižkov district.
Meanwhile, t it is preparing to start clearance and preparatory ground works for its state-of-the-art flagship 26MW data centre project in Zbraslav, which will now be named "Prague Gateway".
