Future Battery Minerals Ltd (ASX:FBM)has its focus trained on multiple priority gold targets at its 100%-owned Miriam Project in WA’s Goldfields region following a detailed review of historical drilling data.
Consistent gold mineralisation
The analysis pointed to consistent gold mineralisation over a strike length exceeding 600 metres at the Forrest prospect, with significant intersections including 12 metres at 2.09 g/t gold from 60 metres and 5 metres at 7.35 g/t gold from 70 metres.
Mineralisation appears to be hosted in both regolith and fresh rock and remains open along strike and at depth, particularly to the north-east and south-west.
Additional gold occurrences have been identified at Forrest South and Jungle, with notable results such as 16 metres at 0.94 g/t gold and 4 metres at 3.37 g/t gold, respectively.
Other prospects within the Miriam tenure, including Goroke and Burbanks Monarch, returned encouraging early-stage results, with results like 5 metres at 2.3 g/t gold from surface.
The Miriam Project covers a portion of the Coolgardie Greenstone Belt and lies in proximity to multiple operational gold processing plants, including Auric Mining’s Burbanks Mill, just 1 kilometre to the north.
The region also hosts major gold resources such as Focus Minerals’ Coolgardie operations and Beacon Minerals’ McPhersons Reward.
Geological understanding
The company has wrapped up permitting and is set to commence a maiden reverse circulation (RC) drilling campaign at Miriam in July 2025.
This program will target the most prospective gold zones while refining geological understanding to support a potential Mineral Resource estimate.
A concurrent litho-geophysical and geochemical review is under way to support drill targeting.
FBM remains well-funded with A$7.4 million in cash and no debt as at 31 March 2025.
Managing director and CEO Nick Rathjen said: “The results of this initial gold-focussed geological and drill data review of Miriam are highly encouraging.
“We now plan to overlay these identified zones with the outcomes from the geophysical and geochemical data review currently in progress.
“This process will allow us to refine our initial pipeline of key gold targets, in preparation for targeted maiden drilling of these targets commencing in July.
“We are excited to be approaching our first drilling program at Miriam.
“The project is an undeniably attractive exploration opportunity, offering structurally controlled gold prospectivity (along with lithium opportunity) matched with multiple potential commercialisation pathways given its proximity to established process facilities for both gold and lithium.”
