Aftermath Silver Ltd (TSX-V:AAG, OTCQX:AAGFF) has extended known mineralization at its Berenguela project in Peru, with new drill results confirming significant silver, copper, and manganese outside the existing resource area.
Drilling north of the existing 2023 mineral resource estimate confirmed the presence of high-grade silver and associated metals, the company said Monday.
One hole returned 35.55 metres grading 322 grams per tonne (g/t) silver, 0.6% copper, and 6.9% manganese from surface, including a higher-grade interval of 7.1 metres at 1,174 g/t silver.
Another hole intersected 12.35 metres grading 302 g/t silver, 0.7% copper, and 10.6% manganese between 2.4 and 16.75 metres depth.
“Our latest round of results have expanded the known mineralization into areas outside of the previous resource model in the central north area,” said President and CEO Ralph Rushton. “We also cut strong manganese mineralization in the far eastern area of the resource where there has been little previous drilling.”
The company plans to incorporate the new data into an updated mineral resource estimate, which is currently in progress. Assay results from the final 11 holes in the 82-hole, 5,200-metre program are expected to be released shortly.
Drilling at Berenguela was conducted at high angles to mineralization controls, with core recoveries averaging 96% across mineralized zones. Lower recoveries were recorded in some near-surface intervals and around historical underground workings.
Aftermath’s Berenguela project is located in Peru’s Puno Department and is known for hosting a significant silver-copper-manganese resource.
