AJ Bell reports strong first half as platform assets top £90bn

AJ Bell PLC (LSE:AJB) has posted another solid set of half-year results, with revenue up 17% to £153.2 million and profit before tax rising 12% to £68.8 million for the six months to 31 March 2025.

The investment platform added 51,000 new customers during the period, taking its total to 593,000. Platform assets under administration (AUA) hit a record £90.4 billion, thanks to £3.3 billion in net inflows and a lift from market movements. AJ Bell’s in-house investment arm also saw assets under management grow 10% to £7.5 billion.

Shareholders have been rewarded, with £64 million returned through dividends and a recently completed £30 million share buyback. The company has now launched another buyback of up to £25 million and raised its interim dividend by 6% to 4.50p a share.

CEO Michael Summersgill said the business kept up strong momentum into April, with customer activity high around the tax year-end despite some market volatility. He added that ongoing investment in brand, tech, and service is helping the platform attract more customers and grow market share.

"We are well-positioned to continue to succeed and invest for long-term growth across a range of different market conditions," Summersgill said. "We have started the second half of the year well, with March’s strong momentum continuing into April.”
