Future Battery Minerals Ltd has taken a strategic step to broaden its resource base, announcing the acquisition of all remaining mineral rights at its Miriam Project in Western Australia. The deal, valued at $350,000 and secured from Corazon Mining, grants FBM full control over gold, base metals, and residual lithium interests across the tenement.
We caught up with managing director Nick Rathjen early in the week, who said the acquisition unlocks the project’s full value, particularly from a gold perspective. “We think there’s a good opportunity to come out with a meaningful gold opportunity and commercialise it rapidly,” he said in an interview with Proactive.
Highlights:
- Future Battery Minerals has acquired 100% of all mineral rights at the Miriam Project (WA) from Corazon Mining for $350,000.
- The deal includes gold, base metals, and residual lithium, giving FBM full control over exploration and development.
- Located just 10km from Coolgardie, the project sits near operating gold mills and infrastructure, offering strategic advantages.
- Rathjen says the company sees meaningful gold upside and plans to commercialise quickly.
- Drilling is set to commence in July, following historical data review and initial assay analysis.
- FBM holds $7.4 million in cash and no debt, supporting exploration and potential new gold-focused acquisitions.
Located just 10 kilometres from the mining hub of Coolgardie, the Miriam Project is in proximity to several operating gold mills, making future development logistically straightforward. The area hosts historic workings and high-grade intercepts, adding weight to FBM’s expansion plans.
With a strong cash balance of AU$7.4 million and no debt, the company is well-positioned to fund its exploration activities. Rathjen confirmed that drill planning is underway for July, with updates expected soon on historical data interpretation and assay results.
The move also signals FBM’s growing interest in gold-focused acquisitions, complementing its core battery metals portfolio. As Rathjen puts it, “Where we see value, we’ll move quickly.”
Investors can expect steady news flow as the company advances both drilling and strategic evaluations across the Coolgardie region.
