The coming week will be a quieter one in terms of company results, but there are still several FTSE 350 companies reporting, including Kingfisher, Pets at Home, Auto Trader, Softcat and C&C Group and Hollywood Bowl.
Notable overseas earnings include Nvidia on Wednesday night, a share that most investors on both sides of the Atlantic have some exposure to directly or via fund holdings.
There will be several major macroeconomic releases, while a key microeconomic event will be payday for many workers as the month of May comes to an end.
