ReconAfrica appoints new IR head, eyes warrant extension

Reconnaissance Energy Africa Ltd (TSX-V:RECO, OTCQX:RECAF) has appointed Mark Friesen as managing director of investor relations and capital markets.

Friesen, based in Calgary, brings over two decades of energy finance and IR experience, including prior roles at Kiwetinohk Energy, Murphy Oil, and BMO.

The company also said it is in ongoing discussions with Namibia’s state oil company NAMCOR regarding a previously announced transaction that remains incomplete.

ReconAfrica intends to extend the expiry dates of over 7.8 million share purchase warrants by 18 months, with July 2023 warrants now due to expire in January 2027 and September 2023 warrants in February 2027. The terms, including exercise prices of C$1.35 and C$1.40, respectively, remain unchanged.

Compensation warrants issued to underwriters in July 2023 will not be extended and expire as scheduled in July 2025.
