Proactive weekly oil and gas news summary - MX Oil, New World Oil & Gas, LGO Energy, Rose Petroleum

A recap of this week's oil news on the AIM market....

Nostra Terra Oil & Gas (LON:NTOG) kicked off the week by dipped another toe into new ventures in the South Texas region, with the acquisition of a another minority interest in a project.

Northern Petroleum (LON:NOP) said it is nearing a restart of production in Canada where it expects to see start-up rates between 75 and 100 barrel of oil per day.

MX Oil (LON:MXO) promised investors an exciting year ahead as the firm bids to build an oil business in Mexico's re-opening energy sector.

It then told investors it is considering investments in other geographies, but denied it has any current plans to enter the Indonesian energy sector.

Also in Latin American, Chariot Oil & Gas (LON:CHAR) told investors on Tuesday it has terminated a Brazilian partnership with Azimuth.

Range Resources (LON:RRL) told investors this week that work programmes and budgets have been finalised for the St Mary’s block, onshore Trinidad.

Gulfsands Petroleum (LON:GPX) chairman Alastair Beardsall thanked his staff for the fortitude shown in the past year, but, has also warned that the group faces many challenges over the coming months.

SacOil (LON:SAC) decided to end its participation in the OPL 233 asset, in Nigeria, as it moves to restructure is portfolio.

Shareholders in New World Oil & Gas (LON:NEW) decided on Thursday that the initially proposed £1.5mln share placing will not go ahead.

Rose Petroleum (LON:ROSE) revealed positive findings from the analysis of the State 1-34 well, in the Mancos shale, which ‘correlate strongly or exceed’ the parameters of the large independent resource estimates.

A separate statement, meanwhile, detailed a £3.1mln equity fund raise. Rose is issuing 1bn new shares, each priced at 0.3p, to institutional and other investors.

LGO Energy’s (LON:LGO) latest well in the Goudron field development drilling programme has hit its targets as anticipated.

Mosman Oil & Gas (LON:MSMN) sent samples away for lab analysis in an attempt to find out why the well at the Petroleum Creek project has suffered limited flows.

Eland Oil & Gas’ (LON:ELA) chief executive said the firm has excellent assets which offer an “incredible growth opportunity” even at current oil prices.
