Marks and Spencer Group PLC (LSE:MKS) shares remained resilient despite further disruption to its online operations, as the retailer's website went offline overnight in the latest fallout from a cyber attack.
Customers were unable to browse the site from Wednesday evening, with a holding message citing ongoing updates. Access was restored early Thursday morning after overnight maintenance.
The incident came just hours after M&S warned the cyber attack, which has already caused weeks of order delays, could shave around £300 million from annual profits. Although the group said insurance would cover some of the loss, the scale of the impact exceeded market expectations.
Online services are expected to remain affected until July, with a phased recovery plan in place.
The shares were up 2.8p at 377.5p.
