Powerhouse Energy Group PLC (AIM:PHE) has secured three new patents in the United States and Europe covering key elements of its waste-to-energy process, as it continues to build intellectual property protection around its thermal conversion technology.
The AIM-listed company said on Thursday it had been granted two patents in the United States and one in Europe during the first half of the year.
These relate to temperature zone control, steam ratio management and fuel mix optimisation within its Distributed Modular Generation (DMG) process, which converts non-recyclable waste into low carbon energy.
Patent No US 12,280,407, granted on 22 April, covers temperature zone techniques in waste treatment, while US 12,303,951, granted on 20 May, addresses steam ratio control. European Patent No EP3999258, granted on 12 February, relates to the fuel mix used in thermal conversion.
Powerhouse said the new patents enhance the credibility of its proprietary DMG technology and strengthen its position as it explores additional commercial markets.
The company added it is awaiting decisions on several further patent applications across the UK, Europe and other regions. Updates will be issued in due course.
