U.S. Global Investors (NASDAQ:GROW) said on Wednesday that its gold-focused exchange-traded fund (ETF), the U.S. Global GO GOLD and Precious Metal Miners ETF (NYSE: GOAU), has begun trading on Colombia’s Bolsa de Valores (BVC), marking its fourth listing in Latin America.
The listing gives Colombian investors access to the GoGold ETF, which tracks companies involved in gold and precious metals production, including firms operating under royalty and streaming agreements.
Already trading in New York, Mexico and Peru, the ETF’s addition to the BVC comes as part of the Nuam exchange integration initiative, which links markets in Colombia, Chile and Peru.
“The GoGold ETF’s listing on the BVC reflects Colombia’s increasingly sophisticated capital markets and growing appetite for diversified, international investment options,” said Frank Holmes, CEO and Chief Investment Officer of U.S. Global Investors. “With gold making headlines amid economic uncertainty and geopolitical instability, we believe this is an ideal moment to bring GOAU to Colombia.”
GOAU uses a smart beta strategy and emphasizes royalty and streaming companies, which the firm describes as the “smart money” of the industry due to their strong historical performance and disciplined capital use.
The ETF becomes the only non-UCITS gold equity ETF listed on the BVC, joining a physical gold ETF and a UCITS-compliant gold equity fund already available to local investors.
The launch is the company’s second on the Colombian exchange. U.S. Global’s Jets ETF (NYSE: JETS), which tracks global airline stocks, was listed in August 2024.
