Lanthanein Resources Ltd has appointed Peter Pawlowitsch as its new non-executive chairman, part of a major leadership transition as the company advances its rare earth and gold exploration projects in Western Australia.
Pawlowitsch has more than two decades of experience in corporate governance, strategic development and capital markets, with expertise spanning business structuring, mergers and acquisitions, and both debt and equity funding strategies. A Certified Practising Accountant and fellow of the Governance Institute of Australia, he also holds an MBA from Curtin University.
In conjunction with Pawlowitsch’s appointment, Lanthanein announced that David Frances will transition to a non-executive director role, while Anees Sabet has resigned from the board. The company thanked Sabet for his contributions and wished him success in his future endeavours.
Critical minerals momentum
The leadership change comes at a pivotal time for Lanthanein, as the company continues to make significant strides in its exploration activities. At the Lady Grey Project in the Yilgarn region, Lanthanein recentrly intersected primary gold mineralisation, reaffirming the project’s potential previous delays due to bushfires and unseasonal rainfall.
The project is adjacent to Covalent Lithium’s Mount Holland mine, home to the historic Bounty Gold Mine, which produced about 1.3 million ounces of gold.
In addition to gold exploration, Lanthanein is actively pursuing rare earth element (REE) discoveries, in line with its strategic focus on critical minerals essential for clean energy technologies. At the Lyons Rare Earths Project in Western Australia, the company has identified two new REE-mineralised ironstones with strike extents of 2 and 3 kilometres, demonstrating the project’s significant prospectivity.
Pawlowitsch’s appointment is expected to bolster Lanthanein’s strategic direction and corporate governance as it navigates towards complex mineral exploration and development goals. The company pointed to his expertise in “sourcing and evaluating businesses, ideas and projects, and developing solutions to enable growth”.
Lanthanein’s moves to strengthen its leadership team build on project momentum, as the company seeks to capitalise on emerging opportunities in the critical minerals sector and contribute to the sustainable energy transition.
