Ideal Power secures major EV and infrastructure partnerships – ICYMI

Ideal Power Inc (NASDAQ:IPWR) is expanding its presence in the electric vehicle and power infrastructure markets, announcing a trio of significant design wins early in 2025. The company, which develops advanced power semiconductor solutions, is seeing traction across key verticals including EVs and solid-state circuit breakers.

CEO Daniel Brdar confirmed a successful collaboration with a large Asian solid-state breaker manufacturer, with Ideal Power’s B-TRAN™ technology delivering a 60% reduction in energy losses versus silicon carbide. The prototype was delivered ahead of schedule, with a product launch planned later this year.

Ideal Power is also advancing its work with global automaker Stellantis. After a successful first project, the company has been selected for a second EV program focused on solid-state battery protection components. “The internal tech validation is complete,” said Brdar, adding that Ideal Power is now entering the procurement phase.

A third engagement involves a Fortune 500 firm with deep roots in circuit protection. Ideal Power’s platform is helping reduce complexity and power losses in EV and industrial systems.

As global utilities adapt to surging EV charging demand, Brdar sees long-term opportunity: “The infrastructure needs enormous investment — our technology is ideal for these high-efficiency applications.”

Ideal Power aims to secure additional design wins and begin revenue generation in the second half of 2025, with a focus on auto qualification and volume scaling.
