Sona Nanotech completes endotoxin testing ahead of human study

Sona Nanotech Inc (CSE:SONA, OTCQB:SNANF) said it has successfully completed bacterial endotoxin testing on its biocompatible gold nanorods, marking a key step ahead of the company’s first-in-human early feasibility study.

The results showed endotoxin levels below detection limits, with no interference observed in the assay, the company said.

“These great results clear another hurdle for Sona as we move towards our pending first-in-human Early Feasibility study,” said CEO David Regan in a statement.

Regan added that the study will use the same batch of gold nanorods tested and is expected to begin dosing patients early this summer, pending ethics committee approval.

Positive Product Controls confirmed test validity with recovery values between 98% and 130%.

Testing followed strict international standards, showed no bacterial contamination, and confirmed the product didn’t interfere with the accuracy of the testing method. The results showed endotoxin levels were below detection limits, meaning no measurable bacterial toxins were found in any of the samples—a strong indicator of product safety.

Sona’s gold nanorods are designed for use in medical applications, where biocompatibility is critical for patient safety.
