PDS Biotechnology Corporation (NASDAQ:PDSB), a US cancer immunotherapy firm backed by EMV Capital (AIM:EMVC), has begun site activations for its phase III trial of Versamune HPV in patients with head and neck cancers linked to HPV16.
The trial, which will enrol around 350 patients, is supported by the US Food and Drug Administration Fast Track designation and includes interim data readouts.
PDS also received regulatory clearance for a separate colorectal cancer study and presented early data on a flu vaccine candidate at a major immunology meeting.
For the first quarter of 2025, the company reported a reduced net loss of $8.5 million, down from $10.6 million a year earlier, helped by lower research costs. More importantly, cash stood at $40 million at the end of March.
EMV Capital, which specialises in deeptech and life sciences investments, holds a 2.2% direct stake in the Nasdaq-listed group.
