Shares in N4 Pharma PLC (AIM:N4P) rose 10% on Monday after the company announced encouraging results from its first in vivo study using its Nuvec® delivery system for an oral treatment targeting Inflammatory Bowel Disease.
The AIM-listed biotech said both single and dual-loaded Nuvec particles, carrying siRNA and mRNA, reduced inflammation in mice with induced acute IBD.
The formulations also delivered a marked drop in TNF alpha, a key inflammatory marker, particularly when combined with a targeting agent.
The results demonstrated successful oral delivery of genetic material to the gut and a sustained therapeutic effect, with inflammation significantly reduced six days after dosing ended.
The study follows promising in vitro findings published in December and strengthens the potential for Nuvec® as a platform for advanced therapies.
The shares were up 0.055p at 0.58p.
