IMI PLC (LSE:IMI) shares climbed 5% in morning trading after the specialist engineering group reaffirmed its full-year guidance and reported strong order momentum in its core Process Automation division.
The company expects to deliver mid-single-digit organic revenue growth for 2025, despite a 3% dip in first-quarter organic sales and a temporary disruption linked to a cyber incident.
Process Automation, which accounts for 41% of IMI’s sales, saw aftermarket orders jump 19% in the quarter, with several large nuclear contracts booked.
The order book for the segment is now 13% higher than a year ago, which analysts at Stifel highlighted as a key driver of future growth.
Group margins improved year-on-year, offering reassurance despite softer revenue figures across industrial markets.
IMI also announced a strategic review of its Transport unit, a more cyclical, lower-margin part of the business, in a move welcomed by analysts, even if the timing may limit potential value realisation.
Stifel described the update as “robust and reassuring,” noting that FX and tariff pressures remain manageable.
The shares were changing hands for 1,875p.
