Below are some of the main news-driven share price changes at 9.15am.
RISERS
Phoenix IT Group (LON:PNX), up 19.0%. Information technology (IT) group Phoenix – with a market cap of £128mln – is mulling a possible 160p a share offer from Daisy Group, the IT firm that was the subject of a management buy-out last year. Phoenix's shares have risen 24.5p to 153.5p as the companies seem now to be haggling over the fine details, plus Daisy needs to do its due diligence.
Rose Petroleum (LON:ROSE), up 17.7%. The energy firm, which was featured in last night's Proactive Investors daily newsletter, is enjoying a second upward burst following yesterday's news about analysis of the Mancos shale.
Concurrent Technologies (LON:CNC), up 10.3%. It has been a good morning for technology companies, with Concurrent, a specialist in the design and manufacture of mission critical computer products, saying first half revenues will be ahead of expectations.
FALLERS
Alkane Energy (LON:ALK), down 9.2%. Ofgem, or, to give it its full name, the office of Gas and Electricity Markets, has put out a statement suggesting a number of companies – including Alkane – have complied with the requirements of the Capacity Market Rules. Alkane issued a statement saying it believes it is not in breach of the watchdog's rules.
Bahamas Petroleum Company (LON:BPC), down 6.7%. The Petroleum Bill and suite of associated regulations, as well as a Sovereign Wealth Bill, have been put before the Bahamian House of Assembly for their second readings, the company revealed.
Darty (LON:DRTY), down 6.0%. The electrical goods seller said like-for-like sales in the Feb-April (inclusive) period were down 0.5% year-on-year, though would have been up 1.0% but for “a material calendar effect”; the assumption this is due to holidays falling on different days this time round rather than sales of calendars.
