Krakatoa Resources Ltd CEO Mark Major talked with Proactive about the company’s growing footprint in Europe and the significance of its recently acquired Zopkhito antimony and gold project in Georgia.
In the interview, Major explained that Krakatoa is heading to London to showcase this new asset to UK and European investors. “The new project, the Zopkhito, which we picked up in December… is no doubt going to be very important to the European markets going forward,” he said.
The Zopkhito project features high-grade antimony and gold, with extensive historical work already completed, including foreign resource estimates. Major noted that the company sees this as a long-term strategic asset, potentially supporting operations for “the next ten to 20 years.”
With snow now melted, crews are re-establishing site access and preparing the existing 30-man camp for the upcoming field season. Krakatoa also plans to convert the foreign resource into a JORC-compliant resource and will conduct additional exploration, including drilling on targets with high geophysical and geochemical potential.
Major highlighted the broader potential of Georgia’s metallurgical belt and the relatively untapped nature of the region for foreign investment.
