Dynamic Metals Ltd has identified a new gold zone during phase one reverse circulation (RC) drilling at the Cognac West prospect, part of its flagship Widgiemooltha Project in Western Australia.
The company completed 4,800 metres of RC drilling across Anomalies A and B, returning promising assay results such as 8 metres at 2.87 grams per tonne (g/t) gold (Au) including:
- 8m @ 2.87g/t Au including 4m @ 5.37g/t Au from 60m in WDR041
- 44m @ 0.33g/t Au including 4m @ 1.21g/t Au from 36m in WDR034
- 24m @ 0.33g/t Au from 48m in WDR033

These results were obtained from 4-metre composite samples, with 1-metre re-samples pending by late May 2025. Follow-up drilling is expected to begin mid-May.
“The completion of our first phase of RC drilling at Cognac West has provided us with very encouraging results to support our systematic exploration approach,” DYM managing director Karen Wellman said.
The goal of this program was to increase our understanding of the bedrock geology to refine targeting, and the identification of a high-grade zone as well as the broad zones of mineralisation recorded give us confidence in
this methodology.
“The DYM team is now in the process of refining our exploration model and we are eager for the next phase of drilling to commence shortly.”
Phase one drilling confirms subsurface mineralisation
The initial 32-hole, 4,800-metre RC drill program was designed to test for subsurface gold mineralisation, refine geological understanding, and validate soil and rock geochemistry anomalies. The program targeted both Anomalies A and B, with a focus on structural complexities associated with felsic intrusions and the Republican Thrust.
Despite some deviation from initial geological expectations, the results, particularly at Anomaly B, confirmed broad low-grade mineralisation and the presence of higher-grade zones in fresh rock, supporting the company’s systematic exploration strategy.
Anomaly A: Targeting high-grade quartz veining
Anomaly A focused on testing a quartz vein mapped at surface, where rock chip sampling returned up to 2,040g/t Au. However, hole WDR019 intercepted the vein within saprolite rather than fresh rock, returning low-level results of 4 metres at 0.15g/t Au and 4 metres at 0.12g/t Au. A new zone approximately 500 metres east revealed a 220-metre-long gold trend hosted in volcaniclastics, warranting further follow-up in Phase 2 to test its potential for larger-scale mineralisation.
Anomaly B: New gold zone and structural targets emerging
At Anomaly B, multiple holes revealed broad low-grade intercepts consistent with geophysical and geochemical targets. Notably, WDR034 intersected 44 metres at 0.33g/t Au, including 4 metres at 1.21g/t Au, while WDR033 returned 24 metres at 0.33g/t Au from 48 metres. A standout high-grade interval of 8 metres at 2.87g/t Au (including 4 metres at 5.37g/t Au) was intercepted in WDR041. This zone is now a priority for down-dip and strike extension testing in Phase 2.

Next steps: 1-metre assays and model refinement
Dynamic has submitted 1-metre interval samples for zones returning more than 0.1g/t Au in composites, with results due late May. These will inform refined drill targeting at both anomalies, with structural modelling and orientation drilling planned to identify further extensions.
