Nvidia Corp (NASDAQ:NVDA, ETR:NVD) is said to be considering adding Bitcoin (BTC) to its corporate balance sheet, according to X commentators.
While the semiconductor giant has not publicly confirmed any such plans, speculation about potential cryptocurrency adoption has stirred interest across both equity and digital asset markets.
The report from crypto commentator Crypto Rover on the social media platform, which cited unnamed sources, claimed Nvidia is exploring a Bitcoin purchase to add "stability" to its reserves.
The amount under consideration remains undisclosed.
Corporate adoption of Bitcoin has previously triggered significant market reactions. Notably, MicroStrategy (MSTR.O) and Tesla (TSLA.O) made headlines in recent years after disclosing large BTC purchases. As of April 2025, companies holding Bitcoin on their balance sheets collectively control over 630,000 BTC, or more than 3% of the cryptocurrency’s circulating supply.
Without official confirmation from Nvidia, the report remains speculative. However, any verified move by the AI chipmaker into Bitcoin could drive fresh volatility in the crypto market and ripple through crypto-exposed equities.
Nvidia, whose high-performance GPUs are widely used in both AI and cryptocurrency mining, has seen increased investor attention amid the convergence of those two sectors.
