GTI Energy Ltd made steady progress at its Lo Herma in-situ recovery (ISR) uranium project in Wyoming during the March 2025 quarter, with key fieldwork and laboratory testing completed in support of the upcoming scoping study.
The company reported positive uranium leach results from agitation tests, achieving recoveries of up to 80%, consistent with other ISR operations in the Powder River Basin. All groundwater monitoring wells returned favourable data, confirming the mineralisation lies well within the saturated aquifer, supporting the ISR mining method.
Hydrological and metallurgical studies are now being finalised to inform the Lo Herma Scoping Study, expected in Q2 2025. The company also reported on drilling results, permitting, and cash management initiatives during the quarter.
Positive uranium leach test results
Leach testing on drill core from Lo Herma confirmed the project’s mineralisation is amenable to alkaline ISR techniques, delivering uranium recoveries of around 75%–80%.
The tests, which simulated in-situ conditions using sodium bicarbonate and hydrogen peroxide, showed average uranium concentrations of 45 milligrams per litre and peak concentrations up to 200 milligrams per litre.
Minor solubilisation of other elements such as calcium, arsenic and selenium occurred, all within acceptable ISR ranges. These metallurgical results will form a key component of the scoping study currently underway.
Drilling confirms ISR viability and intercepts new mineralisation
Four groundwater monitoring wells were drilled, totalling 810 metres, to assess aquifer characteristics. The mineralised intercepts all exceeded the 200 parts per million (ppm) cut-off grade for eU3O8.
Best results included 10 feet at 0.046% eU3O8 and 5 feet at 0.049% eU3O8. These holes also provided core samples for hydraulic testing. The new data builds on the company’s 2024 drilling campaign and supports development planning for ISR extraction.
Hydrogeological and permeability test results
Water table measurements confirmed that mineralised zones sit well below the groundwater surface, with vertical separations of between 59 and 1,178 feet, depending on the drill hole location.
Laboratory permeability testing, using ASTM-compliant methods, reported an average hydraulic conductivity of 5.54 × 10⁻⁷ metres per second—within the upper expected range for ISR-suitable sandstones. These values indicate sufficient fluid flow for ISR mining.
Scoping study progresses toward Q2 delivery
All fieldwork required for the Lo Herma Scoping Study was completed during the March quarter, including groundwater testing and metallurgical analysis. Conceptual designs and cost estimates for ISR wellfield installation and processing plant infrastructure were finalised shortly after quarter-end. The study, led by BRS Engineering, is scheduled for delivery in Q2 2025.
Project portfolio and resource inventory
GTI holds 100% of the Lo Herma Project, which has a mineral resource estimate of 6.21 million tonnes at 630 ppm eU3O8 for 8.57 million pounds of contained uranium oxide.
Total Wyoming mineral resources now stand at 7.53 million tonnes for 10.23 million pounds of uranium.
The company also holds significant exploration ground in the Great Divide Basin and Green Mountain areas, as well as brownfields uranium-vanadium projects in Utah.
Corporate activity and cash position
During the quarter, GTI incurred A$372,000 in exploration expenditure. Cash and equivalents at March 31, 2025 stood at A$913,000.
The company also retains A$255,000 in unused standby equity capital.
GTI’s Annual General Meeting is scheduled for May 8, 2025, with performance rights vesting in January following achievement of key milestones including drilling and resource upgrades.
