Apollo Minerals finds high-grade gold at Salanie, with results of up to 20g/t gold at P6 prospect

Apollo Minerals Ltd has fielded some strong results from its Phase 2 diamond drilling program at the Salanie Gold Project in Gabon, with high-grade intersections and visible quartz-sulphide mineralisation across multiple targets including at the historically productive P6 and A1 prospects.

Early assays in

The company has received assay results for the first eight of 14 holes drilled in the 2025 campaign, with assays from five holes pending.

Drilling has now wrapped up and the rig has been demobilised from the site.

Apollo Minerals managing director Neil Inwood said: “The Phase 2 drill program has been completed on time with assay results now received for the first eight drill holes.

“Shallow mineralisation was encountered at A1 and the controlling Salanie structure is open to the north and south.

“Results are pending for three key holes at P6 which all encountered quartz veining and sulphide mineralisation, and share similar characteristics to hole SLDD013 which encountered mineralisation up to 20g/t.”

Considerable gold

At the P6 prospect, considerable gold mineralisation was intersected, including 1.1 metres at 19.9 g/t gold from 56 metres depth in hole SLDD013, hosted in quartz veining within a felsic intrusive unit.

The same hole returned 1.0 metre at 3.6g/t gold from 38.7 metres. All six holes drilled at P6 intersected quartz-sulphide mineralisation, defining a strike trend of more than 180 metres beneath the historical high-grade adit. Three assays from P6 are pending.

At A1, drilling returned 3.8 metres at 1.3g/t gold from 17.5 metres in hole SLDD006, confirming mineralisation is open to the north.

A further 6-metre wide zone of alteration and quartz veining was intersected in hole SLDD018, located 170 metres south of A1 within the interpreted Salanie Fault structure.

The 2025 program comprised 14 diamond drill holes totalling 1,695 metres across the A1, A3 and P6 prospects.

Limited high-grade mining

These areas were the site of limited high-grade mining in the 1950s, but no modern drilling had occurred until Apollo’s campaigns began in 2024.

Apollo Minerals is continuing to assess the mineralised structures for follow-up exploration, with additional assays expected in the current quarter.

The Salanie Project lies within a 12-kilometre greenstone belt and benefits from proximity to infrastructure, being just 16 kilometres from the town of Lambarene.
