Lancaster Resources Inc (CSE:LCR, OTCQB:LANRF) has named Andrew Watson as its new president and Chief Executive Officer, the company said on Friday.
Watson, a veteran geoscientist and executive with over two decades of experience, brings a background in developing critical minerals such as uranium and lithium, as well as precious metals and conventional energy.
“Uranium and lithium are essential to the global energy transition, while gold remains a vital store of value,” Watson said in a statement. “Lancaster is building a well-balanced exploration portfolio across critical minerals and precious metals, with projects located in geologically rich and politically stable regions.”
Watson previously led the acquisition of Lancaster’s gold assets, including the 100%-owned Piney Lake Gold Project in Saskatchewan and the Lake Cargelligo Gold Project in New South Wales, Australia. He also helped position the company in the uranium sector through its wholly owned projects in Canada’s Athabasca Basin, considered one of the most prolific uranium-producing regions globally.
Before joining Lancaster, Watson spearheaded lithium brine and battery metal development over a land package exceeding 850 square miles at Prism Diversified. His experience also includes the commercialization of clean energy technologies, including hydrogen and enhanced recovery for conventional energy projects.
Watson replaces Penny White, who founded the company and will remain on the board as a director.
