Voyageur Pharmaceuticals unveils leadership changes

Voyageur Pharmaceuticals Ltd (TSX-V:VM, OTC:VYYRF) has announced changes to its board of directors, which the company said aligns with its next phase of growth.

This includes the retirement of Ralph Hesje from the role of chairman.

“During my time with the company, we have navigated significant challenges, strengthened governance, sharpened our strategy, and positioned Voyageur for future growth,” Hesje said.

“I am proud of the progress we have made, and the dedication shown by both management and the board in advancing our vision.”

In connection with his retirement, Voyageur issued 11,402 deferred share units to Hesje under its 10% fixed equity incentive compensation plan.

Succeeding Hesje as chairperson is Eric Pommer, who has served on the Voyageur board for the past three years.

Pommer brings over 45 years of experience in high-tech, manufacturing, and service industries, including senior roles at Martin Marietta Aerospace and Geo InSight International.

He has also served as in-house counsel and operations manager, with expertise in regulatory compliance, mergers and acquisitions, and corporate governance.

“I am honored to take on this role and build upon Ralph’s legacy,” Pommer said.

New addition to board

The company also announced the appointment of Beth Shaw to its board of directors.

Shaw brings over three decades of capital markets experience, having led major equity financing and advisory mandates across the life sciences, technology, and energy sectors.

She is the founder and president of QB Advisory Group and has held senior roles at Desjardins Securities and other investment dealers.

Voyageur CEO Brent Willis welcomed the appointment, stating: “Beth’s extensive experience in capital markets and her expertise in equity financing and corporate governance will be instrumental as Voyageur embarks on its next phase of growth.”

“Her appointment underscores our dedication to enhancing the board with diverse, independent, and strategic leadership, ensuring we are well-positioned to navigate complex financial landscapes and drive sustainable success.”
